Sunday skincare: Lush Cosmetics Lip Scrub Mint Juleps (review)

Morning Sparkles!

It's that time of year where chapped lips provide everyone with a frustrating foil to beautiful pouts - especially with the current trend for matte lips. Those non glossy lippies stick to every single flake on your lips - even where you might have thought you didn't have any, all of a sudden your mouth looks like a sequin dress at the wrong end of a heavy night.

Flaky, for the male readers out there.

And so, to a little number I've seen mentioned a few different places in the blogosphere and have developed a tiny personal addiction to since buying it at Christmas time.

Mint Julips lip scrub from Lush.

This is a caster sugar and jojoba oil based scrub, with a little peppermint oil added for a tasty, tingling feeling. Not to be too lame but, this one is pretty "Lush" - ho, ho, ho. There is claim on the tub that it's mint chocolate flavoured but I find it (thankfully) much more minty than chocolatey. There are other flavours - popcorn, bubblegum and seasonal specials throughout the year - but I found them a little saccharine for my tastes in the shop.

It's £5.50 for about 25g of product. While in theory I could make this myself at home, let's get real - this is not going to happen in real life. Although I am also a fan of a bit of vaseline and an old toothbrush as a make-do-at-home lip exfoliation treatment.

I've been popping this on, topping with Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm and braving the winter winds.

How do you deal with chapped winter lips?

Til next time kitty kats - love, hugs and peppermint flavoured kisses

xx Josephine xx
